How Did This Journey Begin?
It started with the best person I have ever known, and the belief she always had in me.
My Mom.
Everything I am and any success I have ever achieved is all because of her.
Her optimistic outlook and belief in herself made her my superhero (only second to Punky Brewster).
Her work ethic and determination to make a difference in anything she did is just one of the many characteristics I looked up to while I grew up.
She cared about being good to others and doing the right thing, even when no one was looking.
Even though My Mom is gone, I often think of her and hear her in my heart and mind.
When I am scared, I hear her say, “You are stronger than that!”
When I doubt myself, I can hear her remind me, like she always did, that I am good enough and capable of doing anything I put my mind to.
She always believed, “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
Every day I push myself to keep trying to do more and be more, just like her.
Mom, I know you are still with me in spirit and are still looking after me.
Above everything, when I think about this journey that I am on, I hope I am making you proud.
